Obituary: Mary Irene O’Daniel, 77, formerly of Raywick

Mary Irene O’Daniel, 77, died in Louisville on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Raywick to the late Paul Michael Lee and Mary Ethel Minor. She was a retired employee of Walmart. Like her mother, she was a talented crochetier and knitter, and leaves many beautiful afghans and knitted treasures with her family and friends. She loved all things cooking and often shared her creations with neighbors and friends. She had many wonderful friends who provided joy in her life and who were there to support and love her in death. You will always be in our hearts.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Christine Nally (C.L.) of Bardstown and by her brother, Mike Lee (Shelda) of Raywick.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Kaye Turner (Scott) of Charlotte, N.C., three sisters, Sherry Abell of Louisville, Wanda Wise (Jerry) of Campbellsville, and Rita Fadell (Joseph) of Atlanta; one brother, Paul Lee of Hodgenville; and 11 nephews and nieces, Terry, Rene, Lori, Lynn, Kevin, Robbie, Stephanie, Michael, Bobby, Jessie, and Jonathan.

Cremation was chosen. The Memorial Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Raywick with the Rev. David Naylor officiating. Committal rites are in the church cemetery with a luncheon at the Raywick school cafeteria.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
