Lil Harrell Thompson, 101, of Bloomfield, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born July 10, 1924 in Bardstown to the late John and Laura Case Harrell.
She was a retired employee of Burroughs Corporation and was a member of Bloomfield Baptist Church where she served in the choir, library, and as a Sunday school teacher.

She loved her clothes and was always very fashionable. She enjoyed working in her flowers, was a wonderful cook and baker, and was very artistic.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, William “Bill” Thompson; two sisters; 10 brothers; and one stepsister.
She is survived by one daughter, Ellen (Jimmy) Napier of Lexington; one son, Billy (Susan) Thompson of Mount Washington; one granddaughter, Heather (Michael) Waddell of Nashville; two great-grandchildren, Landry and Cannon; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Richard Carwile officiating. Burial is in the Highview Cemetery.
Visitation is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Bloomfield Baptist Church.
The Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
