Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025 — Several elected officials filed their paperwork Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, to seek re-election to their elective offices on the first day available for them to do so.

Nelson County Sheriff Ramon Pineroa (D) filed for re-election. He was joined by a large contingent of deputies and office employees who witnessed him signing the candidate documents.
Republican William Jarren Culver also filed as a candidate for Nelson County Sheriff. Culver currently is employed as a sergent with the Bardstown Police Department.
The current Nelson County Clerk, Democrat Jeanette Hall Sidebottom, filed her paperwork to run for re-election in this year’s election.
Republican Justin Hall, the current Nelson County jailer, filed to run for another term as jailer.
And Republican Robert Allen “Bobby” Chesser filed to run as a magistrate representing District 5 on Nelson Fiscal Court.
The Nelson County Gazette will report additional candidate filings as they are submitted.
