James “Jim” Shewmaker, 74, of Bardstown, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center. He was born on July 3, 1951, in Lebanon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.A. and Anna Lou Hourigan Shewmaker; and two sisters, Charlotte Shewmaker and Stephanie Shewmaker.
He is survived by significant other, Nancy Dearmond; two sons, James Travis Shewmaker and Joseph Wallace Shewmaker; one sister, Shari Shewmaker (Bruce) Stahmer; three brothers, Curtiss Shewmaker, Joe Kent (Cindy) Shewmaker and Ed Shewmaker; five grandchildren, Justin Lamton Parrott, James Cameron Shewmaker, Logan Shewmaker, Lainey Jo Shewmaker and Dakota Benningfield; and several nieces and nephews.
The memorial visitation is 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Beech Fork Hayesville Cemetery in Gravel Switch at a later date.
Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
