Helen Frances Yates Lewis, 96, of Louisville, formerly of Spencer County, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, at Sanders Ridge Health Campus in Mount Washington.
She was born Dec. 18, 1928, in Taylorsville to the late Walter and Lizzie Reinle Yates. She was a long-time member of Summit Heights United Methodist Church where she also worked in the Summit Heights Parents Out Program. She enjoyed gardening. She was an excellent seamstress, and was the ultimate servant to the Lord and everyone in her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Thomas Lewis; and three brothers, Paul Yates, JB Yates and Wilbur Yates.
She is survived by one son, Mike (Patricia “Sam”) Lewis of Mount Washington; two grandchildren, James Thomas Lewis of Louisville and Kristen Michelle Lewis of Erlanger; three nephews and two nieces.
The funeral is 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville with burial in Valley Cemetery.
Visitation is noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, and 9-10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at the funeral home.
The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
