Hutchins’ official press release states that:

“I am proud to announce my candidacy for re-election as Nelson County Judge-Executive in the 2026 election on the Republican ticket.

With more than 17 years of service as 4th District magistrate and my current role as Nelson County Judge-Executive, I have dedicated my career to strengthening Nelson County through hard work, business experience, and a steadfast commitment to public service.

As your Judge-Executive, I have worked every day to move Nelson County forward — improving infrastructure, expanding recreational opportunities, and planning for future growth. There’s more to be done, and I’m ready to continue working for the people of Nelson County.

Priorities for the Next Four Years:

  1. Continue improvements to county infrastructure — better roads, additional bypasses, and long-term transportation planning.
  2. Develop new recreational facilities and enhance existing ones for families and youth.
  3. Develop a new industrial park to create good-paying jobs for our citizens and families.
  4. Advance the Agriscience Center, Arena, and Convention Center project, a major investment in our county’s future.
  5. Find solutions to offset the impact of the bourbon barrel tax repeal and protect county revenues.
  6. Restructure the police and sheriff departments to improve oversight, ensure fiscal responsibility, build public trust, strengthen police protection, and eliminate waste.

My focus will remain on sustained economic growth and community development within Nelson County through collaborative leadership and practical, results-driven solutions. I stand for common sense, community service, traditional values, fiscal responsibility, and transparent governance.

Together, we can continue building a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Nelson County.
