Betty Elizabeth Morris Chesser, 85, of Louisville, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, at Baptist Health Louisville. She was born Feb. 1, 1940, in Chaplin to the late Louis and Christine Morris.
She was a former employee of Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen. She was a member of Bashford Manor Baptist Church and formerly attended Immanuel Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 32 years and Belmar Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Chesser; and five siblings, James Morris, Audrey Chesser, Bonnie Bryant, Wayne Morris and Raphael Morris.
She is survived by three daughters, Janet (Arnold) Hook and Brenda (Raymond) Barton, both of Louisville, and Sandra (Carl) Roy of Corydon, Ind.; one sister, Carol Keeling of Springfield; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
The funeral is noon Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with burial in the Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.
Visitation is 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025.
