Beverly Ann “Sis” Skaggs, 84, of Bardstown, formerly of Boston, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, at her home. She was born Jan. 7, 1941, in Louisville to her parents, Charlton and Frankie Huff Furrie.
She was a retired teacher’s aide at Boston Elementary School and a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Norman Furrie.
Survivors include her husband, Don Skaggs; one stepdaughter, Kimberly Furbush (Bruce); two nieces, Kelli Drake and Terri Krause; one stepgranddaughter, Kristen Orr (Brian); and one stepgreat-granddaughter, Elliana Hapner.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, at Trowbridge Funeral Home in Boston with burial in the Mount Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025, and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Trowbridge Funeral Home in Boston is in charge of arrangements.
