Her career began as a manager at Payless Shoe Store, where she later transferred to Elizabethtown. After leaving Payless, she joined Thompson’s Convenient Store, where she found a wonderful work family and remained for more than 10 years before retiring. She enjoyed crocheting, playing games, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. In 2024, she recommitted her life to Christ and was baptized again, desiring for her family to know and depend on Him as well.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to her brother, David, whom Bobbie adored, for his loving care during her later years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved spouse, Brian Welch; two sisters, Marjorie and Melissa; and two brothers, John VanDeventer and Michael VanDeventer.
