David Russel Lyvers, 85, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, at Jewish Hospital. He was born March 18, 1940. in Bardstown. He was a retired employee of Tapco and former driver for Franklin Auto Sales. He attended Mill Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph M. and Marcella Reddick Lyvers; two sons, Tony Lyvers and David Lyvers; one daughter, Joann Downs; three stepchildren, Chuck Mattingly, Christopher Mattingly, and Dwayne Hutchins; one brother, Joseph Lyvers; four sisters, Ive Bartley, Wanda Price, Carol Adkins, and Freida Rowe; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Pauline “Polly” Lyvers; one daughter, daughter, Pam (Rodney) Valley; four sons, Mikey (Lisha) Lyvers, Todd (Dana) Lyvers, Roger (Selene) Lyvers, and Scott (Kristen) Lyvers; three stepchildren, Teri (Jimmy) Masterson, Joe (Donell) Mattingly, and Shane Hutchins; one granddaughter, Halle Halgash; 32 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at Barlow Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Chesser officiating. Burial is in St. Thomas Cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, and 9-11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at the funeral home.
