Dorothy Bell Stone Nichols, 102, of Mount Washington, formerly of Bardstown, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025. She was born June 7, 1923, in Bardstown. She worked as an employee at Brown and Williamson before retirement. She was a part of the Queen Ester Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star in Louisville. She loved gardening, animals, especially teddy bear quilting. She was of the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Nichols; one daughter, Brenda Robert; her parents, Audie and Boyd Stone; three brothers, John Daniel Stone, Marvin “Bill” Stone, and Luther “Budgie” Stone; and one stepson, Don Nichols.
She is survived by her one son, Rick (Patricia Bond) Nichols of Mount Washington; one stepson, Jack Nichols of Mobile, Ala.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is noon Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Bardstown Cemetery with Bro. Rodney Lynch officiating.
Visitation is 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, at the funeral home.
