Dorothy Shannon Thomas Gentry, 90, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin. She was born Dec. 8, 1935 in Bloomfield to the late Ernest Ray and Ermer Lillian Taylor Thomas.
She worked at American Greetings for a number of years. She loved animals, especially horses, and enjoyed dancing and listening to music by Jim Reeves.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Riley Gentry; two sisters; and four brothers.
She is survived by one daughter, Victoria Lee Shepherd of Louisville; and one sister, Dwana Thomas of Bardstown.
Respecting her wishes, cremation was chosen. There will be no services at this time.
Burial is in Highview cemetery at a later date.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown is in charge of arrangements.
