Edward Jason Wilkerson, 82, of Bardstown, died Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was born March 26, 1944, in Gravel Switch to the late William Earnest and Mary Gondola Porter Wilkerson.

He worked as a maintenance person at Nazareth. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion Post 121. He loved gardening, wood turning, and working on heating and air conditioners. He was always helping people. You could always count on him. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Elizabeth Prather; and one brother, Earnest Wilkerson.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Marie Downs Wilkerson; three sons, William Edward (Betsy) Wilkerson of Georgetown, Jason Monroe (Connie) Wilkerson of Louisville and Thomas Anthony (April) Wilkerson of Berea; one sister, Susan (Brad) Connell of Louisville; three brothers, Ralph (Mary Francis) Wilkerson of Springfield, Henry Allen (Wanda) Wilkerson of Bardstown and Harold E. (Ann) Wilkerson of Cox’s Creek; and nine grandchildren.
The graveside service is 1 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026 atthe St. Joseph Church Cemetery wotj tje Rev. Jacob Zulu officiating. In respecting his wishes, cremation was chosen by the family.
Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with an 8 p.m. prayer service.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
