Floyd Leon “Lee” Scrogham, 78, of Cox’s Creek, died Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Louisville. He was born March 20, 1947, in Anderson County to the late William Edgar “Peg” and Fannie Jane Barnett Scrogham.
Lee served his community for several years as a mechanic at his locally owned Rock City Auto and served his family and friends at his bar, Lee’s Place. He was a baker of jam cakes, a gardener; he was a lover of horses and a good time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Merriett; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Stanfield, Ellen Hellerd, and Lois Newton; and four brothers, William Scrogham Jr., Charles Scrogham, Wayne Scrogham and Robert Scrogham.
He is survived by one daughter, Amanda Garr (Jon) of New Salisbury, Ind.; two sons, Ricky L Scrogham (Karen) of Shepherdsville and Troy Scrogham (Amanda) of Bloomfield; two sisters, Ruby Hagerman of Chaplin and Helen Coulter of Fern Creek; six grandchildren, Matthew Scrogham (Becca), Anthony Merriett (Brandi), Ashley Chisholm (Jonathan), Emily Scrogham, Jocelyn Garr and Jordan Lay; six great-grandchildren; and guardian of MJ Humphrey.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Winfred Hagerman officiating. Burial is in Highview Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2025, at the funeral home.
