Joe W. Hardin, 76, of Bloomfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 4, 1948, in Bloomfield. He was co-owner of Bart’s Mart in Bloomfield.
He was the former Mayor of Bloomfield. He was a Bloomfield Tobacco Festival board member, a Bloomfield Memorial Park board member, and a member of Bloomfield Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Randall and Elizabeth Hardin; and three sisters, Judy Ballou, Mary Nel Copley, and Martha Lee Hatton.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sandy Hardin of Bloomfield; one daughter, Whitney (Chad) Mattingly of Bardstown; one son, Michael (Emily) Hardin of Bardstown; and five grandchildren, Cole Werner, Ella Mattingly, Lincoln Mattingly, Elijah Hardin, and Ashlyn Hardin.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Visitation is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, at Barlow Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may go to Bloomfield Baptist Church.
