Marion E. Smith, 71, of New Haven, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2025 at his home. He was retired from Smith and Sons Construction. He enjoyed camping, fishing, spending time with his grandkids, and sitting on the front porch around the fire pit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary Lucille Smith; and two sisters, Carolyn and Theresa May.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Smith; one daughter, Amy Smith-Cissell (Eric); two sons, Josh Smith and Chad (Wendy) Smith; five sisters, Wanda, Mary Ellen, Marilyn, Brenda, and Louise; five brothers, Donnie Smith, Charlie Smith, Bill Smith, Joe Smith and Johnny Smith; and four grandchildren, Colt, Waylon, Gracie, and Abby.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen.
A memorial gathering is 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven with a private burial at a later date in St. Thomas Cemetery in Bardstown.
