Obituary: Martha Frances Bartley Wilmouth, 78, Bardstown

Martha Frances Bartley Wilmouth, 78, of Bardstown, died Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 15, 1946, in Nelson County. She formerly worked on My Old Kentucky Home Dinner Train with more than 20 years of employment. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sue Ann Palmer and infant Margaret Rose Wilmouth; her parents, Leslie and Bessie Gafney Bartley; and five brothers, Charles Bartley, Billy Bartley, Tommy Bartley, Junior Bartley and Bobby Bartley. Her husband of 60 years, James Neil Wilmouth died May 6, 2025.

She is survived by two daughters, Angie Campbell (Daniel), and Sheila Nalley (Craig), both of Bardstown; one son, Alan Wilmouth of Bardstown; two sisters, Edith Riggs of Louisville and Ann Garner of Bardstown; two brothers, James Keith Bartley (Pat) and Pat Bartley (Shirley), both of New Hope; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Martha Frances Bartley Wilmouth and James Neil Wilmouth is 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev. Jacob Zulu officiating. Burial is in St. Gregory the Great Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2025, at Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Pallbearers are Daniel Campbell, Nathaniel Wilmouth Campbell, Joshua Morgan, Dakota Morgan, Alan Wilmouth, and Christopher Kelty.

Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
