Mary Martha Ward, 91, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born June 11, 1934 in New Haven to the late Leonard and Pauline Whealen Rogers. She worked at Best Western as a hostess for 33 years and loved her job. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers, canning, and making good home-cooked meals. She enjoyed staying busy, she was always finding things to do.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Fred Coplin Ward; one daughter, Pam Shepherd; and one son, Frederick “Freddy” Ward.
She is survived by one daughter, Lynn (Jim) Haridin of Evansville, Ind.; two sons, Scott (Tammy) Ward and Doug (Wanda) Ward both of Bardstown; three sisters; and 11 grandchildren.
In honoring Mary’s wishes, cremation was chosen by the family. There will be no services at this time.
The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown is in charge of arrangements.
