Sunday, May 4, 2025 — The Nelson County Gazette is in the process of rebuilding the site following an abrupt, unexplained outage on April 24th that left visitors seeing only a “404 – The site you were looking for couldn’t be found” error message.
The Gazette’s attempts to have the existing hosting firm restore the site have been unsuccessful, Editor Jim Brooks reports.
“We still don’t know exactly what happened to have the site just shut down without warning,” he said.
The outage means that the years of content amassed at the site is — so far — permanently lost.
“We are hopeful that the content can be retrieved because it represent years of work writing about local government and the community,”
While the new site rebuilds, news stories and obituaries will still be posted on the Nelson County Gazette and WBRT Facebook pages.
WBRT RADIO SHOW VIDEOS POSTED. The Gazette will continue to post videos of WBRT radio shows they carry in the mornings. These include “Bradford & Brooks,” “Around the County with NCJE Tim Hutchins,” “Good Morning Sunshine,” with Kim Huston and others.
