Monday, Dec. 8, 2025 — State Sen. Jimmy Higdon discussed the coming challenges the next General Assembly will face in crafting the state’s next two-year budget. Due to the federal government pushing more of the cost of the SNAP (food stamp) program on the states, Kentucky will need to determine how to accomplish the increased funding. Higdon added that Kentucky has the nation’s highest incident of SNAP fraud, another challenge the General Assembly will work to address.
Higdon made the comments on the weekly “Bradford & Brooks” radio show that airs at 11 a.m. every Wednesday on WBRT Radio.
