City council special meeting called to hire fire chief prior to work session

Tuesday, March 6, 2012, 2:15 p.m. — The Bardstown City Council will have a special meeting at 5 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 6, 2012, in the council chambers in the City Hall Annex on Xavier Drive.

Only one item is on the special meeting agenda, “Approval of the Bardstown/Nelson County Fire Department Chief.” Mayor Bill Sheckles announced last Friday he had selected Kevin Moulton, assistant chief of the Zoneton Fire Department as his recommendation for fire chief.

WORKING SESSION. Items on the monthly work session that will follow the special meeting include:

  • The mayor’s report
  • Discuss paddle fish in Sympson’s Lake
  • Water and wastewater preliminary plan
  • Automation of water meter reading
  • City audit discussion
  • Discussion of an ordinance amendment to allow an indoor shooting range.
The meetings are open to the  public.
