Joseph Herman “Joe” Clark, 87, Bardstown
Joseph Herman “Joe” Clark, 87, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at his home.
He was born Jan. 15, 1925, in Holy Cross. He was a retired employee of International Harvester in Louisville and a retired farmer. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 121 in Bardstown and VFW Post 5710 in Shepherdsville. He volunteered for many years at St. Vincent de Paul Mission Store in Bardstown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Leslie Clark, Sr. and Mary Roxie Sims Clark; and three brothers, Junior, Wally and Frank Clark.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Barbara Mattingly Clark; two sons, Jodie Clark and Larry (Valisa) Clark, all of Bloomfield; two daughters, Ann (David) Marple and Mary Lou (Gerald) Cummings, all of Bardstown; one sister, Cattie (Bud) Newton of Loretto; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, in Holy Cross with burial in the church cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard. The Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 5 p.m.
Pallbearers are grandsons and nephews, Jason Hamilton, Mark Hamilton, Stephen Beam, Phillip “Skeets” Clark, Thomas Mattingly, Terry Newton and Michael Mattingly.
Honorary Pallbearers are grandchildren, Barbara Beam, Jennifer Marple, Kaylan Clark, Ashlan Clark, Morgan Clark and Thomas Clark.
