Burning backyard playhouse prompts request for Bardstown firefighters

Thursday, March 8, 2012, 5:50 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded Thursday evening about 5:40 p.m. to the 100 block of Fern Lea Circle at the request of Bardstown Police. A resident had intentionally set fire to a child’s playhouse in the backyard. Police officers requested firefighters respond to the scene to evaluate the safety of letting the playhouse burn in respect to the other structures nearby. Firefighters arrived on scene and extinguished the fire.
