Norbert Lee Brahm, Sr., 84, Loretto
Norbert Lee Brahm, Sr., 84, of Loretto, died Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East, Louisville.
He was born Dec. 8, 1927, in Chrisney, Ind. He founded Brahm Trucking Service, Inc. and was a Loretto businessman. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Peterson Brahm; two sons, Jack Brahm and Baby Ben Brahm; four brothers, Bob (“Hank”), Gene, Raphael and Leroy Brahm.
Survivors include eight daughters, Betty Ann and Marvin Harned of New Haven, Mary Sue and Joe Smith of Burgin, Pat and Robby O’Daniel of Lebanon, Kathy and Bob Abell of Lebanon, Bernadette and Mark O’Daniel of Lebanon, Carolyn and Mike Edberg of Loretto, Margaret and Mike Reynolds of Louisville, and Kim Brahm of Loretto; four sons, Lee and Theresa Brahm of Loretto, Ray Brahm and his friend, Linda Blair, Tom and Debbie Brahm of Loretto, and Ricky Brahm of Loretto; brothers and sisters surviving include Mary Faye and Marvin Welp of Schnellville, Ind., Kathy and Harold Thomas of Morganfield, Micky and Ron Smith of Ferdinand, Ind., Catherine Rogers, Mildred Brahm, of Ferdinand, Ind., Lucille Brahm of Ferdinand, Ind., Geraldine Peterson, Mary Frances Peterson, Angela Peterson, Cleon and Pearline Brahm of St. Meinrad, Ind., Bill and Rosemary Peterson, Fr. Gerald Peterson, Fr. George Peterson, Fr. Harry Peterson, and Bobby Peterson; grandchildren M.T. and Bobbi Harned, Kevin Harned, Wendy and James Spragens, Beth Smith, Stuart and Allison O’Daniel, Dana and Steve Deverall, Ben and Cara Brahm, Ann and Kyle Hadley, Larry Brahm, Amber and Jim Eubank, Paul Michael Brahm, Lesley and Del Leachman, Bradley Abell, Martha and Larry McCauley, Michael Brahm, Tom Brahm II, Cody Brahm, Scottie Ann and Corey Jones, T. J. and Stefanie O’Daniel, Katie and Chad Clark, Megan Minrath, Adam Minrath, Michael Reynolds, Joe Reynolds, Elizabeth Corbett, Mary Brahm, Tony Brahm, Richard Brahm, Levi Brahm and Hannah Brahm; 21 great-grandchildren and five new family members to come in 2012; a special friend, Evelyn Cissell.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, St. Francis, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Gerald Peterson, Rev. Chris Allegra and Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrants.
Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with prayers at 7 p.m.
