Bardstown man damages police cruiser en route to county jail

Monday, March 12, 2012, 5:15 p.m. — A Bardstown man was arrested Saturday night, March 10, 2012, after police were called about 9:43 p.m. to an altercation between a man and woman at 103 Ashberry Drive. Officers found a victim at the address with visible injuries.

Rocky Thornsberry, 30, was arrested and charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) minor injury; first-degree criminal mischief; first-degree disorderly conduct; resisting arrest; third-degree terroristic threatening; and violation of a foreign Domestic Violence Order.

While Thornsberry was being taken to the Nelson County Jail, police said he became violent and banged his head against the patrol car screen and kicked the car’s rear door, breaking the window and bending the door frame. Police used a Taser to subdue Thornsberry, who was trying to exit the patrol car through the broken window. After being Tasered, Thornsberry was taken to the Nelson County Jail without incident.
