Two men arrested for theft, scrapping of 800 lb. farm plow

Monday, March 12, 2012, 5:30 p.m. – Two men were arrested by Bardstown Police about noon today, Monday, March 12, 2012, and charged with receiving stolen property in connection to the theft of an agricultural plow.
The plow was owned by Land Enterprises, Inc., a corporation owned by the Monin family, and was taken from its location near the new Thomas Nelson High School on KY 245. The men allegedly sold the 800-pound plow for scrap, receiving $99.
Timothy R. Richardson, 28, of Bardstown, and Jason R. Mink, 30, of Mount Washington, were lodged in the Nelson County Jail on charges of receiving stolen property.
Investigating officers also believe the two men are part of a scrap metal theft ring in Spencer County. A Dodge Durango SUV and a trailer were seized by police during the arrests and it will be held pending the final disposition of this case. A small amount of marijuana was found in the vehicle, and Richardson was also charged with possession of marijuana.
The investigation is continuing, and police ask anyone with information to contact them at 348-6811.
