Mayor Pro Tem Bobby Simpson read a letter from the Marty Perry, the Kentucky Heritage Council coordinator for the National Register of Historic Places, which congratulated the city on the final acceptance of four sites in Bardstown that were approved additions to the Register. The four sites were Baldwin’s Tourist Court Residence-Office, 321 W. Stephen Foster Ave.; Kurtz Restaurant and the Bardstown-Parkview Motel Office, 418 East Stephen Foster Ave. ; Old Kentucky Home Motel, 414 W. Stephen Foster Ave; and Wilson Motel, 530 North Third St.

COLONIAL DAYS AT WICKLAND. The council unanimously approved a municipal resolution allowing “rifle frolic”  to take place during  the Colonial Days, Friday, March 30, 2012 through Sunday, April 1, 2012.

While the event is hosted at Wickland, the rifle frolic takes place at a nearby rock quarry within the city limits. The city has an ordinance forbidding the discharge of firearms in the city limits, and the council approved allowing the rifle frolic to take place as an exception to the ordinance.
