Hubert W. Summers, 88, Bardstown

Hubert W. Summers, 88, of Bardstown, died Thursday, March 15, 2012, at Bluegrass Assisted Living in Bardstown. He was born July 1, 1923, in Taylorsville. He was retired from the State of Kentucky, a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, a member of Duval Masonic Lodge # 6, and attended Parkway Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Lucille Hagan Summers; parents, Claude and Exie Summers; one sister, Ardia Ice; and one brother, J.D. Stout.

He is survived by his brother, Edward Summers of Mount Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Parkway Baptist Church in Bardstown with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery. Dr. James Carroll will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday at Barlow Funeral Home. A Masonic service will be held Friday evening.

Memorial contributions may go to the Humane Society of Nelson County or The American Diabetes Association.
