‘Burg Hill’ slide temporarily closes roadway near county line

Saturday, March 16, 2012, 1:37 a.m. — A rock slide on US150, Springfield Road on “Burg Hill” near Fredericktown has closed most of both lanes of traffic. Nelson County Dispatch received several calls on the rock slide, and a deputy was dispatched to the area to assess the equipment the state highway department might need to clear the roadway. The slide was reported about 1:30 Saturday morning. The officer cleared the rocks from the road surface, and assisted several motorists whose cars hit the rocks and suffered blown tires. While the roadway is clear, drivers are cautioned to be aware of mud that may still be on the roadway.
