NARFE chapter holds March meeting, plans to meet again April 2

Monday, March 19, 2012, 11 p.m. — The membership of Elizabethtown Chapter 1050 of The National Active and Retired Federal Employees enjoyed their monthly meeting on March 5 at NOLIN RECC on Ring Road in Elizabethtown. The guest speaker for the day was Glen Deaton from Petroleum Helicopters, Incorporated. Deaton flies STAT Flights for PHI to transfer patients to and from hospitals, including from accident scenes. The crew normally consists of the pilot, a certified EMS, and a nurse. Deaton attended Warrant Officer School with the Army and learned to fly at Fort Rucker. He has been flying over 15 years and his home base is currently in Greenville, KY. His presentation was very interesting and informative.
The next NARFE meeting will be on April 2 at the Ring Road NOLIN RECC Bldg. The Heartland Service Center for Civil Service questions/concerns will open at 0900 and the business meeting will begin at 1100. The program for April
will be several display tables of crafts, businesses, and travel, etc. Members will share information about horses, remote control airplanes, Longaberger baskets, etc, and there will also be a table to buy and sell used books if anyone wants to participate.
The KY Federation Convention will be in Hopkinsville, KY at the Holiday Inn from 10-12 April. Please call NARFE president Kay Bennett for more information at 270-769-3137.
