Driver cited when truck demolishes pedestrian crossing sign

Tuesday, March 20, 2012, 1 p.m. – A semi truck driver was cited Tuesday morning by Bardstown Police after he destroyed the pedestrian crosswalk indicator on the northwest corner of the intersection of Fifth Street and West Stephen Foster Avenue. Witness contacted police about 10:20 Tuesday morning identifying the truck as carrying an intermodal type cargo box and said the truck did not stop. Another witness said the truck turned onto Barton Road. A Bardtown Police officer found the truck matching the description at the Barton Brands distillery.
