Woman taken to hospital after found in her car unresponsive

Thursday, March 22, 2012, 7:45 p.m. — A 53-year-old woman was taken to Flaget Memorial Hospital after she was found unresponsive in her car at a stop sign at the intersection of First and East Stephen Foster Ave. The 911 caller told dispatchers she tried to wake the woman by knocking on the driver’s side window of her white Ford Focus without success. Bardstown Police and Nelson County EMS responded to the scene. The woman apparently had a diabetic emergency with a very low blood glucose level. She was taken to Flaget hospital for treatment.
