Bruce Atcheson Barber, 66, of Bardstown, died Thursday March 22, 2012, at his home. He was born July 14, 1945, inOssining,New York. He was the past business owner of Hood Laboratories and Healix Corporation, where he created various patents for these international product companies. He lived and worked inMadison,Conn.,Portland,Maine, andDuxbury,Mass., and was a loving husband and father.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerard G. Barber and Mary “Baba” Robinson.

He is survived by his wife, Nathalie Barber of Bardstown; one son, Morgan Barber of Portland, Ore.; one daughter, Kate Barber Shortelle of Pembroke, Mass.; one stepdaughter, Amaelle Alami of Bardstown; two sisters, Annie Nyborg of Ukiah, Calif., and Helen Herget of Branford, Conn.; one brother, Rod Barber of Louisville; and one granddaughter, Grace Shortelle of Pembroke, Mass.

Cremation was chosen with a private burial inMadison,Conn. at a later date.
