Louisville men indicted for metal thefts from Cox’s Creek business
Saturday, March 24, 2012, 1 a.m. — Two Louisville men were indicted Wednesday by a Nelson County grand jury for metal thefts from Synergy Tool and Gauge, a metal fabrication business located on Deatsville Road in Cox’s Creek.
Shane D. Showalter, 22, and Brandon Armstrong, 23, were charged with two counts each of theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 and complicity to same, and two counts each of receiving stolen property and complicity to same.
Prior to their indictments by the grand jury, both men were arrested on theft charges Jan. 28, 2012, and lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
According to the indictment, on Jan. 21, 2012 and again on Jan. 28, 2012, Showalter, acting alone or in concert with Brandon Armstrong and others, allegedly took aluminum valued at more than $16,540 from Synergy Tool and Gauge. The indictment further alleges on the same dates, Showalter, acting alone or in concert with Brandon Armstrong and others, received, retained or disposed of aluminum and other metals belonging to the same company. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
