Man arrested after burning girlfriend’s clothes, threatens self
Sunday, March 25, 2012, 12:30 a.m. – A man was arrested Saturday afternoon after he was involved in separate incidents, one of which required both police and firefighters respond. Saturday afternoon about 1:20 p.m., Nelson County sheriff’s deputies and the Rolling Fork Fire Department were dispatched to a home in the 4000 block of Nat Rogers Road. According to the caller, a male subject there was intoxicated and burning his girlfriend’s clothing. The clothing was reportedly being burned in a barrel, which was extinguished by a garden hose. Police met with the individual and family members before leaving the scene. Police were asked to return to the residence about 3:45 Saturday afternoon after the man reportedly called his ex-wife and threatened to harm himself. Police returned and the man was taken into custody and lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
