Two Bardstown men injured in crash while fleeing police
Sunday, March 25, 2012, 1 p.m. — Two Bardstown were injured and trapped in their pickup truck early Sunday morning after it crashed and flipped over while they were running from police. At about 1 a.m., a Bardstown Police officer attempted a traffic stop near the intersection of North Third and KY 245. The driver did not stop, but accelerated his vehicle north on North Third Street. The officer pursued the vehicle, following it as it turned onto Plum Run Road and then crashed in the 700 block. The Bardstown Fire Department was called to help extricate the men, both of whom were trapped in the vehicle for about 40 minutes. Nelson County EMS transported the pair — a 25-year-old man complaining of left hip pain, and a 39-year-old man — to Flaget Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
