Man, 46, suffers severe burns while burning debris behind residence

Sunday, March 25, 2012, 2:30 p.m. — A 46-year-old man was severely burned Sunday afternoon while attending a controlled burn at the rear of a residence in the 800 block of Johnson Street. Bardstown Police, Bardstown Fire and Nelson County EMS responded to the address about 2 p.m. Sunday. First-responders said the man had severe burns to his upper torso and neck. EMS transported the man directly to the burn unit at University Hospital in Louisville.
