Bardstown man arrested in wake of police robbery investigation
Tuesday, April 3, 2012, 2 p.m. — A 19-year-old Bardstown man was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of robbery.
John Matthew Jackson of Bardstown was arrested by Bardstown Police after their investigation into two recent robberiess. The first was on March 24, 2012, on Countryside Drive. Jackson allegedly lured his victim, a 23-year-old white male, to that location where Jackson is alleged to have knocked the victim down before beating the back of the victim’s head. The man’s cell phone and liquor was taken. The injured man was treated at Flaget Memorial Hospital. The second robbery happened at the St. Joseph church parking lot. Jackson allegedly assaulted a 26-year-old man and took his cell phone and wallet. The victim’s nose was broken in three places and suffered a facture under one of his eyes.
Jackson is charged with two counts of second-degree robbery. At the time of his arrest, he was out of jail on bond after an earlier arrest for first-degree burglary. Bardstown Police are also investigating Jackson’s possible involvement in a another similar crime.
