Police called after truck driver threatens to steal his big rig

Saturday, April 7, 2012, 6:15 a.m. — A dispute Friday morning between the driver of a semi tractor-trailer and his Kansas City, Mo., employer led to a request for police to locate the driver and remove him from the company’s truck. A representative of NKC Transportation said the driver refused to take a load he was asked to pick up. The dispute escalated, and the driver threatened to take the truck and drive back to his home in Mississippi. Deputies were dispatched to 150 Quick Stop, 4598 Springfield Road, to remove the driver and secure the truck, but found neither the driver nor the truck at that location. The truck was located later Friday morning parked at a Hardin County truck stop.
