Sen. Rand Paul, Anatok, school budgets and more today on ‘Brooks & Co.’
STAFF REPORT
Today’s edition of “Brooks & Company” will feature an interview with U.S. Senator Rand Paul, who has been traveling the state while the Senate is in recess. He’ll talk about his visits to the disaster-stricken areas of Kentucky as well as the Supreme Court case dealing with Obamacare, and his efforts to promote fiscal responsibility in government.
After the interview the phone lines will be open to talk about current headlines; should Anatok be preserved at any costs? As owners of the property, should the Bethlehem school board have the right to simply demolish the building if that’s their decision? How should historic preservation fit into the grand scheme of things?
Site-based councils in the county are facing some difficult decisions this spring as schools must look at the impact budget cuts will have and make decisions on instructional positions. When push comes to shove, do we cut the arts and other teaching positions in order to preserve the core content our children need to be successful?
These topics and more are on the agenda today for “Brooks & Company” starting at 11 a.m. on 1320 WBRT. Tune in on the web by clicking the play button on the WBRT button on the Nelson County Gazette home page.
