Mary Catherine Thornsberry, 76, Culvertown
Mary Catherine Thornsberry, 76, of Culvertown, died Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.
She was born to the late James Benedick and Mary Ada Mattingly in Loretto. She was a Catholic by faith and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Culvertown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Harold “Jimmy” Thornsberry; two sons; James Darrell and Joseph Earl Thornsberry; three brothers, Clyde, Marty, and Bunk Mattingly; three sisters, Inez Morgan, Alice Jackson, and Dilly Jackson.
Survivors include three sons, Harold Dennis Thornsberry and his wife Patty of Culvertown, Allen Bruce Thornsberry and his wife Carla of Culvertown, and
Charles Anthony “Tony” Thornsberry of Culvertown;
four daughters, Beverly Diane Cecil and her husband Mike of Culvertown, Cathy Denise Sidebottom and her husband Terry of Boston, Janet Renee Boone and her husband Danny of New Haven, and Theresa Faye “Terri” (Wendy) Kennedy of New Haven; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Culvertown with the Rev. Troy Overton officiating. Burial is in the St. Thomas Church Cemetery in Bardstown.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, and 8-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven. A prayer service is 6:30 Monday evening at the funeral home.
