Nelson Circuit Court indictments — Feb. 2, 2011

The following people were indicted by a Nelson County grand jury on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011. They are set for arraignment in Nelson Circuit Court Feb. 17, 2011.
John Sheroon, 35, New Haven, 11 counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument and complicity to the same; first-degree persistent felony offender. According to the indictment, on or about the 29th and 30th of November 2010, Sheroon allegedly possessed the following forged checks by number and amounts indicated and passed them alone or in concert with Lester Greenwell at the listed businesses: No. 3252, Five Star, $50.10; 3253, IGA, $84.46; 3255, IGA, $92.34; 3256, Five Star, $68.71; 3257, IGA, $66.10; 3258, IGA, $128.03; 3261, Save-A-Lot, $63.38; 3262, Save-A-Lot, $129.39; 3265, Dollar General Market, $17.50; 3266, Dollar General Market, $111.83; and 3267, Five Star, $126.06. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only plus conditions.
Lester Greenwell, 40, Lebanon. 11 counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument and complicity to the same; first-degree persistent felony offender. According to the indictment, on or about the 29th and 30th of November 2010, Greenwell allegedly possessed the following forged checks by number and amounts indicated and passed them alone or in concert with John Sheroon at the listed businesses: No. 3252, Five Star, $50.10; 3253, IGA, $84.46; 3255, IGA, $92.34; 3256, Five Star, $68.71; 3257, IGA, $66.10; 3258, IGA, $128.03; 3261, Save-A-Lot, $63.38; 3262, Save-A-Lot, $129.39; 3265, Dollar General Market, $17.50; 3266, Dollar General Market, $111.83; and 3267, Five Star, $126.06. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only plus conditions.
Jerry D. Nation, 31, Bloomfield, receiving stolen property over $300 and complicity to the same; first-degree persistent felony offender. According to the indictment, sometime between Dec. 30, 2010 and Jan. 24, 2011, Nation, either acting alone or in concert with Patricia Maness, allegedly received, retained or disposed of a motorcycle, Sunl go-kart and Mach speedway go-kart belonging to K&M Small Engines, knowing the items were stolen or having reason to believe they were stolen and having a value of $500 or more but less than $10,000. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only plus conditions.
Patricia R. Maness, 22, Bloomfield, receiving stolen property over $300 and complicity to the same. According to the indictment, sometime between Dec. 30, 2010 and Jan. 24, 2011, Maness, either acting alone or in concert with Jerry D. Nation, allegedly received, retained or disposed of a motorcycle, Sunl go-kart and Mach speedway go-kart belonging to K&M Small Engines, knowing the items were stolen or having reason to believe they were stolen and having a value of $500 or more but less than $10,000. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only plus conditions.
David Phelps, 32, Bardstown, theft by deception, $500 or more. According to the indictment, on Nov. 11, 2010, Phelps allegedly passed check no. 143 for $1,058.94 at Joe Hills Auto Center, Bardstown, knowing the check would not be honored by First Federal Savings Bank, said account marked “insufficient funds.” Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.
David Phelps, 32, Bardstown, theft by deception, $500 or more. According to the indictment, on Nov. 24, 2010, Phelps allegedly passed checks numbered 149, $13.13 and 150 for $492.88 at Buzick Lumber & Home Center, Bardstown, knowing the checks would not be honored by First Federal Savings Bank, said account marked “insufficient funds.” Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.
David Phelps, 32, Bardstown, theft by deception, $500 or more. According to the indictment, on Nov. 29, 2010, Phelps allegedly passed check number 201 for $849 at Bardstown Electronics, Bardstown, knowing the check would not be honored by First Federal Savings Bank, said account marked “insufficient funds.” Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.
Jeffrey Baunach, 38, Louisville, first-degree sodomy, victim under 12; two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, victim under 12. According to the indictment, sometime between 2001 and 2003, Baunach allegedly engaged in deviate sexual intercourse with a female juvenile under the age of 12 years by the use of forcible compulsion. Additionally, the indictment states that between 2001 and 2003, Baunach allegedly subjected a male juvenile under age 12 to sexual contact. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only plus conditions.
Megan Carlton, 20, Bardstown, theft by unlawful taking. According to the indictment, sometime between Sept. 1 and Dec. 20, 2010, Carlton allegedly took cash belonging to Foster Heights Elementary School having the value of $500 or more but less than $10,000. Bail was set at $2,500 cash only plus conditions.
Kendall K. Green, 23, Bardstown, first-degree wanton endangerment (6 counts); tampering with physical evidence; possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the indictment, on Dec. 24, 2010, Green allegedly fired a gun in an apartment with five other occupants and one person in a neighboring apartment. Green allegedly attempted to hide the gun in shoe in a closet. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.
Jackie A. “Baby” Allen, 49, Bardstown, second-degree assault. According to the indictment, on Jan. 22, 2010, Allen allegedly stabbed a man in the right side with a kitchen-style knife. Bail was set at $20,000 cash only plus conditions.
