Orvan Hendricks, 88, Bloomfield
Orvan Hendricks, 88, of Bloomfield, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at St. Matthew’s Manor Nursing Home in Louisville. He was a native of Nelson County, a retired farmer, a veteran of the United States Coast Guard who served during World War II on the USS Ingham. He attended Little Union Baptist Church.
He was the son of the late Perry and Olva Mae Ward Hendricks, and was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Gray Hendricks; one sister, Marshalene Colvin; one brother, Rudolph Hendricks; one daughter, Geraldine Hendricks; and one grandson, John Orvan Hendricks.
Survivors include one daughter, Amy Feusner and her husband Roger of Bloomfield; two sons, Sandy Hendricks and his wife Patty, and R.O. “Ronald” Hendricks, all of Bloomfield; two sisters, Dona Mae Molohon and her husband Dick of Bloomfield, Alma Jean “A.J.” Burba and her husband Randall of Bardstown; one brother, Garland Hendricks of Bloomfield; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Houghlin Funeral Home with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. The Rev. Jack Poole will officiate.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012, at the funeral home.
The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
