Everette Charles Skeen, 69, Bardstown

Everette Charles Skeen, 69, of Bardstown, died Friday, April 20, 2012, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was born Dec. 21, 1942, in Cincinnati. He was a self-employed cabinet maker, former Cub Scoutmaster and Boy Scoutmaster for Troop 142 of Bardstown, and a member of Bardstown United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Louise Skeen.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Skeen of Bardstown; two sons, Charles Skeen and his wife Laura, of Houston, Texas, and David Skeen of Navarre, Fla.; one daughter, Nancye Avis and her husband Greg, of Bardstown; six grandchildren, Brennan Skeen, Olivia Skeen, Ashley Skeen, Mark Avis, Jacob Avis, and Matthew Avis; and one aunt, Edith Mildred Stephenson of Lexington.

The funeral is 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in Carlisle Cemetery, Carlisle. The Rev. Karl Lusk will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2012, and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Barlow Funeral Home.
