Deputy, KSP trooper injured when cruisers collide near New Haven
Monday, April 23, 2012, 4:04 p.m. — A Nelson County Deputy Sheriff and a Kentucky State Police trooper were injured when their vehicles collided just before 3 p.m. Monday on US31E about a half mile north of New Haven. Two sheriff’s deputies and two KSP troopers had been working together in the area just before the accident attempting to locate an individual or their residence when the crash happened. Initial reports said the deputy suffered a laceration on the back of his head or neck, and the KSP trooper was complaining of back and neck pain. Both men were taken by Nelson County EMS to Flaget Memorial Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
