Aubrey ‘Tiny’ Jewell, 81, Bloomfield

Aubrey “Tiny” Jewell, 81, of Bloomfield, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at his home. He was a native of Spencer County, a former employee of Bennett’s Gas, Bird and Son and a farmer. In his earlier years he attended the Taylorsville First Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Stella Nethery Jewell.

Survivors include his wife, the former Sarah Jane Richardson Jewell; two sons, Gary Jewell and his wife Mary of Bloomfield, Ricky Jewell and his wife Lisa of Bardstown; two sisters, Betty Gulley of Lexington, Ind., and Lucille Fell of Bardstown; one brother, Scotty Jewell of Bloomfield; four half sisters, Margaret Couch and her husband Byrce, and Sandra Jewell, all of Bloomfield, Lisa Best and her husband Ronnie of Florida, and Lora Jane Jewell and her husband James of Orrison, Tenn.; one half brother, Rudolph Jewell of Lawrenceburg; two grandchildren, Susan Marie Jewell and Brandi Kay Smith; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey Kay Smith and Landon Ray Effler; and his caregiver Marsha Juarz.

The funeral is 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Bro. Leland Parks officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Visitation is 4-7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012, at the funeral home.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Nelson County.

The Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
