Mary Dorothy Bard, 85, of Louisville, died Friday, April 27, 2012, at Norton Audubon Hospital.

MARY DOROTHY BARD

She was born June 9, 1926, in Loretto, and was a former employee of Louisville Laundry Company and Wood Mosaic Lumber Company. She was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Joseph “Joe” Bard; her parents, Thomas Leo and Mary Agnes Nalley Powell; three sons, David Ray, James Terry and Thomas Bard; two sisters, Pauline Mattingly and infant Cecilia Powell.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Bard and Jerry Bard of Louisville; two daughters-in-law, Lanetta and Bernie Bard of Louisville; one sister, Lucille Shibley of Louisville; four grandchildren, Jamie Bard and his wife Tiffany, Roy Bard, Katie Bard and Sarah Bard, all of Louisville.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2012, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, St. Francis, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.
