Teen girl injured when struck by car near North Third & Daughtery Ave.

Monday, May 9, 2012, 4:45 p.m. — A 15-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle in front of the Family Dollar Store on North Third Street Wednesday afternoon about  4:10 p.m. Major Ray Lewis, assistant police chief, was one of the officers who responded to the accident. The injured girl complained of head and neck pain and was was kept laying on the ground until Nelson County EMS arrived. She was transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital for treatment. The girls parents were en route to the hospital at press time, police said.
