Anne ‘Rita’ Dobson, 59, of Louisville
Anne “Rita” Dobson, 59, of Louisville, died Tuesday May 8, 2012, at her home. She was the former Rita Lanham of Bardstown. After receiving her Masters of Education, she began her teaching career at the Archdiocese of Louisville and taught for 36 years including St. Polycarp and Holy Cross Catholic Schools. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, A.D. Lanham, and her sister Rose Marie Lanham.
Survivors include her loving husband, John Robert Dobson; two daughters, Sarah Elaine Dobson and Lauren Allysia Dobson, both of Louisville; one son, John Steven Alexander Dobson of Louisville; one stepson, Richard Graham Hipsh of Dallas; her mother, Ann Marie Conely Lanham of Bardstown; two sisters, Mary Clapp and her husband Mike Clapp of Mayfield, Margaret Avis and her husband Fred Avis of Cox’s Creek; seven brothers: Jimmy Lanham and his wife Jacki Landham of Ohio, John Lanham of Bardstown, Joe Ed Lanham and his wife Sharon Lanham of Bloomfield, Keith Lanham, Mike Lanham and his wife Kaye Lanham, Maurice Lanham and his wife Tammy Lanham, and Scott Lanham, all of Bardstown; and five stepgrandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at St. Gregory Catholic Church with the Rev. John Schwartzlose officiating. Burial is in the Lanham Family Cemetery in Bardstown.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012, and 8-10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home. A prayer services is 7 p.m. Friday with Deacon Joe Livers officiating.
