Catherine Amelia Linton, 83, Bardstown

Catherine Amelia Linton, 83, of Bardstown, died Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was the former Catherine Lamar, a native of Bardstown and a member of the St. Monica Catholic Church and a retired domestic.

She was the daughter of the late Will Bradley and Mary Helen Hammonds Lamar, and was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Thomas Linton; one daughter, Margaret Diane Linton; two brothers, John Thomas Lamar and William A. Brewer; and a grandson, Bradley Thomas Butler.

Survivors include six daughters, Wanda Linton, Martha Linton, Shirley Linton, Jacqueline Linton, Carolyn Drake and her husband William Drake, and Partricia Butler Linton, all of Bardstown; three sons, William Linton, Kenneth Linton and his wife Kim Linton, all of Bardstown, and David Linton of Lexington; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012, at St. Monica Catholic Church with the Rev. Jeffrey Hopper officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home. A prayer service is 7 p.m. Wednesday with Deacon Scott Turner presiding.

The Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
